Patricia Urquiola designs an armchair collection for private and public spaces from a broken shell fragment that has been polished by the waves. The Scandinavian influence, which is already expressed in the name, is the reference to Arne Jacobsen and the elongated incision on all models, a metaphor for the deep incisions in the coasts of the north. As in a natural cycle, the broken shell, recreated by time and water, becomes a chair and finally a stool. The broken shape of an abstract concept transforms into a design object: gentle lines that support and accommodate, highlight the attention to detail of the seams in harmony with the minimalist design of the structure.
