Description
Together with the hanging lamps, these ceiling lights are the first design objects that Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen created as a design duo back in 2011. They presented the objects during a solo exhibition at Valerie Traan, the gallery of the art director of valerie_objects. The lamps seem to be almost naive drawings that materialize in the air and give the room a playful line of color. The design is quite simple and consists of nothing more than a bent and missing steel tube and an archetypal lampshade on top. "First we dug up the lampshade at a flea market." says Hannes Van Severen. "It has a fantastic shape: completely neutral." It is this sense of clarity that Müller Van Severen is known for. Just like your other furniture, the ceiling lamp creates space rather than filling it.
